Aaron Boone has held it together with the New York Yankees for years. The manager helped the franchise reach the playoffs in most of his seasons. They reached the ALDS and ALCS, won 90-plus games consistently, and had one World Series appearance.

Despite all the effort, Aaron Boone has been under a lot of criticism. Many called him out for his mismanagement over the years. While he’s received a lot of support, he still failed to win a championship.

The clock is ticking for Boone, whether he likes it or not. That said, the Yankees seem to have a couple of candidates ready as a backup option instead of Boone.

Aaron Boone must win the World Series. The pressure is on, and it’s time the Yankees break their long curse.

Francisco Cervelli  And Albert Pujols  Emerge As Candidates To Replace Aaron Boone

Boone is still under contract, and he has time to prove himself. It’s still unclear if the Yankees want to part ways with Boone or not. However, a bad playoff exit will certainly result in a change.

Team Italy’s manager, Francisco Cervelli, and Hall of Famer Albert Pujols have emerged as candidates to replace Aaron Boone. FanSided reported that Cervelli fits the Yankees’ criteria, and Boone will have no job security.

“Cervelli aligns with the criteria the Yankees might prioritize if they move on from Boone. He’s shown he can handle the pressure. With just a single pennant through his first eight seasons, Aaron Boone might have the greatest job security of any active MLB manager.”

Albert Pujols is also a perfect candidate to bring the right command and guidance for the Bronx Bombers. For now, Aaron Boone has the opportunity to work his way through the 2026 season and help the team secure a title if possible.
