The Los Angeles Angels put on a showcase of batting on Thursday, securing an 11-4 victory over the New York Yankees.
It didn’t take long for the Angels to get going. Oswald Peraza opened it up with a two-run home run in the top of the first inning.
In the bottom of the inning, Yankees star Aaron Judge responded with a solo home run to make it a 2-1 game. That’s when both sides played solid defense to keep the other side scoreless for a while.
In the bottom of the third, Giancarlo Stanton slammed a 446′ two-run homer to take the lead. The next few innings remained a stalemate until the floodgates opened for L.A.
A few RBIs in the top of the sixth put the Angels in front before Josh Lowe sent in two more runners to make it a 6-3 game. Ben Rice cut it to two with a solo homer of his own before Mike Trout did the same to take a 7-4 lead.
While the Yankees came up empty for the rest of the game, Jo Adell hit a grand slam to take an 11-4 advantage and seal the win.
