Watch: Tigers OF suffers brutally painful caught stealing

Detroit Tigers outfielder Akil Baddoo was caught stealing in perhaps the most painful way possible on Monday against the Cleveland Guardians.

After earning a one-out walk in the top of the second inning, Baddoo looked to get into scoring position with the Tigers trailing 1-0. When Guardians catcher Mike Zunino's throw began to tail well to the left of second baseman Andres Gimenez, it appeared the ball would either head into the outfield, or at least be deflected off of Baddoo and leave him bruised, but with a stolen base.

Instead, like a magnet, the ball somehow not only hit the runner in the worst spot possible, but also simultaneously ricocheted right into Gimenez's glove for the caught stealing.

Baddoo finished the game 0-for-4, but Detroit picked up a 6-2 road win. The 24-year-old former second-round pick is in his third big league season (all with the Tigers) and is 15-for-68 with two RBI and three steals.

Cleveland (16-19) hosts Detroit (16-18) in the second game of their three-game set at 6:10 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
