The American League West showcases a pair of late matchups in California on Wednesday night in MLB.

First, the Texas Rangers look to avoid a three-game sweep by the Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim. Meanwhile, up in Sacramento, the Seattle Mariners and Athletics play the rubber match of their three-game set.

Texas Rangers at Los Angeles Angels - 9:38 p.m. ET

The Rangers (56-52) entered Orange County on a six-game winning streak, but have been tripped up twice against the Angels (53-55).

Los Angeles won the series opener on Monday, defeated Jacob deGrom and the Rangers as a heavy home underdog, 6-4. The Angels turned the trick again on Tuesday with four runs in the sixth inning in an 8-5 triumph.

Nathan Eovaldi (8-3, 1.50 ERA) looks to stop the bleeding for Texas tonight. Eovaldi has allowed two runs during a current four-game winning streak, including tossing six innings in a 13-1 rout of the Angels on July 8.

Jose Soriano (7-7, 3.79 ERA) counters for the Angels, who has given up two earned runs in each of his past two starts. He was on the losing end of that 13-1 blowout to the Rangers earlier this month, getting tagged for five runs in four innings of work.

In the last meeting with these pitchers on the mound, the Angels closed as a -110 favorite. Tonight, the line is flipped to the Rangers as a -132 favorite at DraftKings. Let's back the home underdog to finish off the sweep.

Seattle Mariners at Athletics - 10:05 p.m. ET

The Mariners (57-51) sit as the third Wild Card team in the American League entering Wednesday's action. Seattle was tripped up in Sacramento on Tuesday, 6-1 by the Athletics (47-63), marking the third loss for the M's on their current road swing.

Although Rookie of the Year favorite Nick Kurtz has been held in check this series, DH Brent Rooker went deep last night to give the A's a 3-0 lead and they never looked back.

The Athletics have won five of their last six games, including the surprising four-game road sweep of AL West-leading Houston this past weekend.

Seattle tries to get on track tonight behind right-hander Bryan Woo (8-5, 2.91 ERA), who seeks his first win in his past four starts. The Mariners have lost two of his previous three outings in extra innings, while Woo has allowed two earned runs or fewer in four straight road starts.

The Athletics counter with left-hander Jeffrey Springs (9-7, 4.13 ERA), who struck out five batters in six innings of a 15-3 rout of Houston last Friday. Springs has given up two runs in 11 innings against Seattle this season, splitting a pair of starts.

Each of the first two games of this series have finished Under the total of 10.5 on Monday and 11 on Tuesday. Tonight's total falls to 9.5, as both meetings in Sacramento this season with a total below 10 have managed to go Over.

Best Bet: Mariners/Athletics Over 9.5 runs (DraftKings)
