Today our ‘Season in Review’ series turns back to starting pitching. Specifically, we’ll dive into the inaugural season of Jeffrey Springs, a 33-year-old lefty starter for the A’s.
The A’s dropped their series opener against the Texas Rangers on Friday night, losing the first of three by a 5-2 final on a hot summer evening in West Sacramento.
One of the Athletics big additions this offseason was bringing in Jeffrey Springs in a deal with the Tampa Bay Rays. The left-hander had been superb with the Rays from 2021-24, holding a 2.63 ERA, albeit it across just 229 innings.
