The Atlanta Braves are having a great start to the season, holding the second-best record in the league. They are just half a game behind the Los Angeles Dodgers. Thanks to Ronald Acuna Jr., the team has been on fire as they seek a playoff run.
Acuna has just one home run, but he’s slashing .244, and his defensive contribution has helped the Braves win multiple games. An injury is not something the Braves would want, especially with Acuna.
The Braves were trailing the Washington Nationals 3-2 at the top of the sixth inning. Acuna walked up to the plate against Jake Irvin. The Nationals pitcher plunked Acuna on the hand, leaving the Braves slugger to scream out in pain.

Surprisingly, it was the second time that Ronald Acuna Jr. was hit during the game. As the tension continued, Braves pitcher Bryce Elder hit Nationals slugger CJ Abrams in return.
Acuna was forced to exit the game, and Braves fans started booing Irwin. However, the good news is that there’s no major damage. The X-rays on Acuna’s left hand were negative.
However, the Braves have listed their fan-favorite as day-to-day. The slugger might miss out on a game or two until the pain is fully healed. It’s a hard blow, Acuna, but thankfully, it was nothing serious.
The umpires warned both benches after Elder took a shot at Abrams. The Braves played well as they went on to defeat the Nationals with ease. Ronald Acuna Jr. and his team are keen on making the playoffs this season. As the Phillies and Mets have shown struggles early in the season, the Braves seem to have a great chance of making the playoffs.
