The Boston Red Sox are entering a crucial phase in their horrendous 2026 campaign. Boston’s CEO Sam Kennedy recently stated the club will be sellers at the trade deadline if the team does not show marked improvement soon. The team will look to complete a sweep over the Texas Rangers at Fenway Park on Sunday evening.
Jacob deGrom departed the game with a no-decision after allowing two runs through 6.0 innings for the Rangers. Meanwhile, Ranger Suarez also gave up two runs in his 5.0 innings with seven strikeouts.
The Red Sox pulled into the lead with a two-run homer from Jarren Duran in the seventh inning, his 11th of the season. Jake Burger narrowed the deficit for the visitors with a solo home run in the eighth. But the home team responded with a couple more insurance runs to seal the win.

The first pitch for the Rangers vs. Red Sox Game 3 is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. ET.
Here’s how to watch Sunday evening’s game:
Nathan Eovaldi makes his 14th start of the season for the Texas Rangers against his former team. The veteran right-hander is having a difficult season with a 5-7 record and a 4.26 ERA from 80.1 innings. Eovaldi has allowed 16 earned runs in his last four outings.
Connelly Early will take the mound for the Boston Red Sox on Sunday evening. The rookie left-hander has five quality starts in 14 appearances thus far with a 3.30 ERA over 71.0 innings and a 5-4 record. After a couple of rough outings in June, Early will want to post a strong performance.
