The Chicago White Sox have outrighted Dominic Fletcher to Triple-A Charlotte after the outfielder cleared waivers. Chicago designated Fletcher for assignment to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Travis Jankowski. With the timing of the move coming right before the start of the season, the White Sox were able to sneak him through waivers.
Fletcher appeared in 72 games for the Pale Hose last season, slashing .206/.252/.256 in that span. Despite his lack of plate production, the 27-year-old provided top-notch defense in right field.

Chicago parted ways with left-handed pitcher Jake Eder, sending him to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for cash considerations. The Angels have optioned him to their Triple-A affiliate in Salt Lake City. Once a top pitching prospect, Eder's stock has dropped considerably after Tommy John Surgery derailed his trajectory in 2021.
The White Sox acquired Eder at the 2023 deadline from the Miami Marlins in exchange for designated hitter and third baseman Jake Burger. The lefty pitched a 6.61 ERA in 24 minor league games in 2024 and tossed two innings in his major league debut.

Fletcher will patrol the outfield in Triple-A alongside Oscar Colas and Zach DeLoach. Chicago has designated all three players for assignment this offseason, and the trio has minor league options remaining. Depending on injuries and summer trades, they could see time in Chicago at some point this season.
Eder also has minor league options remaining and will try to make his mark in the majors with his third organization. Unfortunately, he will leave a sour memory on the South Side as the Jake Burger trade has aged poorly.
