The Chicago White Sox are calling up utility prospect Rikuu Nishida from Triple-A Charlotte, according to Ian Eskridge of FutureSox.com.

The move was also confirmed by CHSN’s Chuck Garfien on Sunday night.

Nishida, a 25-year-old Japanese infielder/outfielder, is expected to join the team and could make his MLB debut as soon as Monday against the Minnesota Twins at Rate Field.

The 2023 11th-round pick out of the University of Oregon has been one of the most productive players in the White Sox system this season. In 44 minor-league games, he is hitting .323 with a .449 on-base percentage and 15 stolen bases. At Triple-A Charlotte, he has posted a .342 average.

Known for his elite contact skills, speed, and infectious energy, Nishida brings versatility to the roster. He can play second base, the outfield, and has even seen time at third base. White Sox player development staff have praised his ability to lift teammates and make an impact in multiple ways.

This promotion comes as the White Sox, who have had a strong start to 2026, are facing a bit of adversity after a rough west coast trip and return home for a series against their division rival, the Twins, for the first time in 2026. No corresponding moves have been reported at this time.
