World Series betting odds for the 2022 MLB season

Opening Day in the MLB is two days away! We've already looked into award futures for the entirety of Major League Baseball, so be sure to check out the pieces on Yardbarker's Sports Betting section.

Now, we turn our attention to team futures and the board for the 2022 World Series champion.

Last year the Braves were +1000 to win the World Series before the season began and went on to beat the Houston Astros, which were +2500 to win.

That just goes to show you that there's value on the board. The betting favorites may be there for a reason, but a lot can change between now and October.

One note before we get to the odds: The playoff field has grown this year, one of the main results of the lockout this winter.

There will now be 12 teams that qualify for the postseason, up from 10 last season. This makes betting team futures more enticing, as the odds that they make it to the big dance have drastically changed.

Sometimes all it takes is getting into the postseason to go on a run.

2022 World Series Betting Odds

The below odds are from FanDuel, where it seems the majority of teams have higher odds. Always be sure to shop for the best price available to you when placing a futures bet.

Top 10 Odds to win the 2022 World Series

  1. Los Angeles Dodgers (+480)
  2. Toronto Blue Jays (+850)
  3. Chicago White Sox (+950)
  4. Houston Astros (+1000)
  5. Atlanta Braves (+1200)
  6. Milwaukee Brewers (+1200)
  7. New York Yankees (+1300)
  8. New York Mets (+1500)
  9. San Diego Padres (+1600)
  10. Tampa Bay Rays (+1600)

The above highlights an even 50-50 split between the American and National Leagues, with both leagues represented in the top 10 to hoist the Commissioner's Trophy at the end of October.

The Dodgers are the heavy favorites after signing Freddie Freeman. They made it to the NLCS last season, coming out of the play-in game, before losing to the Braves in six games.

Toronto headlines the American League despite not reaching the postseason last year. The Blue Jays were one game away from qualifying for the postseason in 2021 and are led by young star Vladimir Guerrero Jr., one of the betting favorites to win AL MVP.
