Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees are tied atop the American League East standings at 9-7 with the Baltimore Orioles. After being swept in a three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays, the Yankees snapped their five-game losing streak against the Los Angeles Angels in an 11-10 win on Monday.
Judge has been his typical self to start the season. He is tied for second in home runs (6) with Orioles shortstop Gunner Henderson, Houston Astros left fielder Yordan Alvarez, Pittsburgh Pirates second baseman Brandon Lowe and Philadelphia Phillies left fielder Kyle Schwarber, trailing St. Louis Cardinals right fielder Jordan Walker (8).
Judge is 33 years old in his 11th MLB season. The seven-time all-star has 374 career home runs, third amongst active players, with teammate Giancarlos Stanton in the lead (454). The five-time Silver Slugger has three career AL MVP awards, including winning the award last season.
Trout, on the other hand, is only one year older than Judge at 34, yet is in his 16th season in the majors. When comparing Trout to Judge, the Angels outfielder has more career home runs with 408, more Silver Slugger wins (nine) and more All-Star Game appearances (11).
Both Judge and Angels outfielder Mike Trout hit two home runs last night. Judge appears to respect this seniority, as he made strong comments postgame when speaking on Trout. The 6-foot-7 outfielder sang his praises, proclaiming Trout the greatest of all-time.
"Aaron Judge on Mike Trout following Monday's game: "He's the greatest,"" Underdog MLB wrote on X. ""He's the greatest of all-time." Trout and Judge face off again on Tuesday after both hitting 2 HR in the first game of the series."
