The New York Yankees are heading into the 2026 season looking to make a deeper run in the MLB playoffs. Despite finishing with a 94–68 record in 2025, the Yankees were unable to get past the divisional round, falling to their AL East rivals, the Toronto Blue Jays, in four games.
Questions have begun to mount over whether a squad led by manager Aaron Boone can finally get over the hump and end the team’s World Series drought.
The Yankees remain the model franchise around the league with 27 total championships, yet they have not captured a title since 2009.
With outfield superstar Aaron Judge entering his age-34 season, the pressure is mounting. The reigning AL MVP is still in his prime, but the window to win with him at the center of the lineup is narrowing.
Looking to stabilize the path forward, the Yankees announced their full coaching staff for 2026, reaffirming continuity while adding a few new faces.
“The Yankees today announced our 2026 coaching staff,” the team wrote on X, followed by a graphic with the coaches on the roster for next year.

Boone enters his ninth season at the helm of the Yankees, having guided the club to the postseason in seven of his first eight years, highlighted by a World Series appearance in 2024. Joining Boone once again is Brad Ausmus, who resumes his role as bench coach.
Pitching coach Matt Blake also returns after the Yankees picked up his option, and he will be supported by assistant pitching coaches Preston Claiborne and Desi Druschel, the latter rejoining the organization following a stint with the Mets.
On the hitting side, James Rowson is back after drawing interest as a finalist for the Twins’ managerial opening. He will continue to work alongside assistant hitting coach Casey Dykes, with Jake Hirst promoted from hitting coordinator to add further support in the role.
Luis Rojas remains in place as third base and outfield coach despite speculation he might pursue a managerial opportunity, while Dan Fiorito begins his tenure as first base, infield and baserunning coach. Rounding out the staff is Tanner Swanson, who continues as major league field coordinator and director of catching.
Together, this mix of returning voices and new additions will play a crucial role in shaping how far the Yankees can push toward ending their championship drought in 2026.
