The New York Yankees have one of the strongest starting rotations in the league, carrying a rotation earned run average of 3.14, placing them third amongst all 30 clubs. One of the team’s most consistent arms this season has been Cam Schlittler.
Schlittler made his debut with the team on July 9, 2025, and in that season, he started 14 games and pitched to a 2.96 ERA over 73 innings.
His biggest moment for the Yankees happened during the win-or-go-home game three of the 2025 American League Wild Card against the rival Boston Red Sox. He threw eight shutout innings, striking out 12 Red Sox batters and leading the team to the ALDS.
Now in 2026, Schlittler has continued his strong showing with an AL-leading 1.35 ERA in nine starts for the Yankees with a 5-1 record. In his last five games, the 25-year-old has struck out 29 batters, surrendered 19 hits for two earned runs for a 0.57 ERA.
Off the mound, Schlittler’s rising profile has extended beyond the Bronx. The right-hander announced that he will be hosting a meet and greet on Saturday, May 16, from 11 a.m. to noon at Lids Times Square.
Schlittler announced the event on his Instagram story ahead of Friday’s series opener against the rival New York Mets.
As the Yankees head into rivalry weekend and face off against the Subway Series rival Mets, Schlittler will seek to continue his dominant run as he takes to the mound in the first game of a three-game set at Citi Field.
