This is soul crushing news for the already banged-up New York Yankees.
The Yankees have been without right fielder Aaron Judge (stress fracture in rib, intercostal strain) and DH Giancarlo Stanton (calf strains) for months. Now, they will be missing another key member of their lineup for a while as well.
On Monday, Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters that left fielder Cody Bellinger has a Grade 2 left hamstring strain that will force him to miss 4-6 weeks of action.

Bellinger underwent an MRI in New York today that revealed the severity and timeline of his injury, which he suffered on Saturday night in Philadelphia.
The Yankees placed Bellinger on the injured list on Sunday after he strained his hamstring running out a double the night before against the Phillies.
Bellinger, who made the AL All-Star team this year, had a brutal month of June, hitting .228 with a .664 OPS. He struggled to begin July, but was heating up in his last 15 games with a .309/.367/.382 slash line. Bellinger was also hitting .348 over his last seven games. On the season, Bellinger has 11 home runs, 53 RBI and a .770 OPS in 102 games.
The Yankees badly need offensive help at the moment without Judge and Stanton. Losing Bellinger is a brutal blow for their lineup.
With Judge out indefinitely and Bellinger down for the next 4-6 weeks, the Yankees will likely increase their efforts to bring in another outfielder at the August 3 MLB trade deadline.
The word is that the Yankees were already seeking a right-handed hitting outfielder even prior to Bellinger getting injured. Ben Rice, Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Paul Goldschmidt will have to pickup the slack with Bellinger sidelined.
In addition to outfield help, the Yankees are looking for a catcher and pitching ahead of the deadline, which is just one week away.
