The New York Yankees have not had great luck when it comes to injuries early on during the 2025 MLB season.
To begin the year, the Yankees have had to play without both Gerrit Cole and Giancarlo Stanton. While Stanton seems to be making his way back towards playing, Cole will miss the entire 2025 season and will undergo Tommy John surgery.
Recently, another concerning injury occurred.
Marcus Stroman was placed on the 15-day injured list due to inflammation in his left knee. He has not had a great start to the year on the mound, but with Cole out he will be a key part of the rotation throughout the season.
A new update has given a positive outlook for Stroman.
According to a report from insider Greg Joyce of the New York Post, Stroman has received a cortisone shot in his knee and the hope is that he will not miss too much time due to the injury.
"Marcus Stroman got a cortisone shot in his knee yesterday to help get some of the swelling out, per Boone," Joyce wrote on X. "MRI was OK besides the swelling. Yankees hopefully he's not down for long."
