The New York Yankees announced some promising news on their center fielder.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Monday that Trent Grisham could rejoin the team either on Wednesday or Friday. The expectation is that he will play in a rehab game on Tuesday.
Trent Grisham could come off the injured list for the Yankees on Wednesday or Friday, Aaron Boone said. Sounds like he'll play in a rehab game tomorrow.

Boone previously said that Grisham would need to play in a rehab game/s before being activated from the injured list. Grisham was with the Yankees in Boston this past weekend, where he underwent baseball activities, including batting practice.
Grisham has been on the IL since June 13 with a right hamstring strain. Before getting injured, he was slashing .232/.341/.406 with a .747 OPS, eight home runs and 35 RBI in 66 games.
The Yankees are currently without 2/3rds of their starting outfield between Grisham and superstar right fielder Aaron Judge (stress fracture in rib). Cody Bellinger has gotten the bulk of center field duties with Grisham out. Spencer Jones and Max Schuemann have also seen time at the position. Jasson Dominguez has taken over in right field for Judge.
It's good news that the Yankees will likely be getting Grisham back this week. The Yankees' offense could use an offensive boost given they have scored four runs or less in their last nine games (2-7 record). They're coming off getting swept in a four-game series by the AL East rival Boston Red Sox this past weekend.
Grisham accepted the Yankees' one-year, $22.025 million qualifying offer in the offseason after he slugged 34 homers, drove in 74 RBI and posted a .812 OPS in 2025.
The Yankees trail the Tampa Bay Rays by one game in the American League East division. They are, however, seven games up in the top AL Wild Card spot.
The Yankees will begin a three-game series at home against the Detroit Tigers today.
