Yankees Share Jasson Dominguez Injury Update

The New York Yankees shared a promising update on their injured outfielder on Wednesday ahead of their rubber game with the Baltimore Orioles.

Manager Aaron Boone told reporters that Jasson Dominguez received a PRP shot in his left shoulder two days ago and he is still clear of any concussion symptoms.

However, it's likely that Dominguez is still a few weeks away from returning to play after he crashed into the left field wall while making an impressive catch against the Texas Rangers on May 7.

Dominguez's concussion tests were negative, but he was placed on the 10-day IL with a low-grade left AC joint sprain in his shoulder.

The Yankees called up Dominguez, a former top prospect, on April 27 after DH Giancarlo Stanton landed on the IL with a right calf strain.

Dominguez, 23, slashed .200/.250/.367 with a .617 OPS, one home run and four RBI in a total of nine games.

The Yankees called up their No. 6 ranked prospect in outfielder Spencer Jones on May 8 to replace Dominguez on the roster.

Jones has gotten off to a 1-for-11 (.091) start with one RBI in his first four career big-league games.

Neither Dominguez or Jones cracked the Yankees' Opening Day roster in 2026. However, they both should play key roles in the team's success this season.

The Yankees' starting outfield consists of Aaron Judge in right field, Trent Grisham in center and Cody Bellinger in left.

When Stanton or Dominguez return from the IL, Jones could be the odd man out and get sent back down to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. There will also be limited at-bats for Dominguez when Stanton comes back, which means he could find himself back in the minors as well.

New York snapped a four-game losing streak on Tuesday when they defeated the Orioles by a score of 6-2. They will look to take the series from Baltimore this afternoon before facing the New York Mets in the Subway Series this weekend.
