Alexander Volkanovski is one of the least confrontational fighters in the UFC but even he has a deep hatred for Colby Covington.
Controversial UFC welterweight star Colby Covington is one of the most universally hated fighters in the sport amongst the fanbase.
Many fans have been happy to see the recent downfall of the former interim champion, who is looking to return to action in the next few months following back-to-back losses.
During his time away from action, Covington has continued to play the heel and recently slammed Dustin Poirier for retiring before fighting him and putting an end to their ongoing rivalry.
Throughout his UFC tenure, Covington has done several things to anger the UFC fans, as well as his fellow fighters.
One of which, was when he mocked Leon Edwards‘ late father in the press conference ahead of their title clash at UFC 296.
And despite being one of the least confrontational fighters outside of the Octagon, even UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski has recently expressed his hatred for ‘Chaos’.
After being asked if there is one fighter that he can’t stand, ‘The Great’ Volkanovski didn’t hesitate when he answered Covington.
“One fighter I can’t stand? Ah mate yeah, Colby Covington, I mean that’s an obvious one, it’s an easy question,” Volkanovski told The Unscripted Show.
“I’ll make it a little bit better for you. Colby, you’re a piece of s— and I dare you to come say something to my face cause I’d love to slap you. He’s just a piece of s—.
“A lot of times (in this sport) you get idiots like him that take things too far, some of the things he has said, just like, no. There’s pushing a fight and then there are pieces of s—, and he’s one of them,” Volkanovski continued.
Wanting to return to action in the next few months, Covington has already called his shot and called out two fighters.
One of whom is Paddy Pimblett, who he is extremely unlikely to fight due to the difference in weight. However, the second fighter he called out was Gilbert Burns, which makes a lot more sense.
