Arman Tsarukyan recently won at RAF 08 against Urijah Faber in a dominant way. He even made headlines when he pushed Faber into the crowd while taking him down. However, Tsarukyan always stays in the headlines as he aims to become one of the biggest superstars in the sport, but recently, he got caught in a bizarre incident.
Tsarukyan says he broke a finger during an incident outside a hotel involving fans. At first, the Armenian fighter described it as an attack, but later explained that the situation began when fans asked for photos and pulled him. Talking to Adam Zubayraev, the 29-year-old said:
“We left the hotel, [a few fans] attacked us… I really did break a finger. They didn’t attack, they were asking for photos, pulling at me, I said, why are you yanking me, and then it all kicked off.”

The injury might delay his UFC return. Tsarukyan once mentioned he would fight after the summer, but no dates have been confirmed yet. However, the Armenian fighter called out Colby Covington for a wrestling match after RAF 08.
Arman Tsarukyan says a wrestling match with Colby Covington is the biggest possible matchup for him outside the UFC. After dominating Urijah Faber at RAF 08 in Philadelphia, Tsarukyan compared a potential Covington match to being offered a fight with Justin Gaethje or Conor McGregor. In the post-match interview, he said:
“It’s like if they told me I am fighting Gaethje, or I can fight Conor Mcgregor. I am gonna forget about Gaethje. It’s same here. It’s a big wrestling match right now. He beat everyone, and I beat everyone. We’re both the best wrestlers in the UFC.”

Tsarukyan said the same logic applies to Covington because both have reputations as elite wrestlers. Even though he is still expected to face Chris Weidman in wrestling, Covington is clearly the matchup he wants most. Now, fans will wait to see updates on this matchup.
