BKFC 78 fight week is here. Saturday night, for the first time since March and BKFC 70, David Feldman’s promotion heads to Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, FL for this week’s card. Saturday’s event was to have been the first of three straight weeks of action for the organization.

Recently, the schedule of events for the month of July changed. Next week, BKFC was supposed to have made its promotional debut in Australia before the event was cancelled due to the Western Australia Combat Sports Commission refusing to grant a license for the planned July 19 BKFC event in Perth.

Subsequent to the cancellation of the show, BKFC officials have been informed that they’re forbidden from making any appeal, making BKFC 78 the first of only two July shows on the docket. After BKFC 78, the promotion returns to 2300 Arena on Saturday, July 26.

As far as this weekend’s show is concerned, coverage begins with the countdown show at 6 pm ET/ 3 pm PT on the official BKFC YouTube channel before moving onto the fights themselves at 7 pm ET/ 4 pm PT. This event can be seen live gavel-to-gavel on DAZN. All told, if there are no adjustments to the slate between now and the weekend, the final version of Saturday’s show features a full 12-fight card.

BKFC 78 Main Event: No. 2 Contender Leonardo Perdomo vs. No. 3 Contender Arnold Adams

At the top of the bill at BKFC 78 on Saturday night, you’ll be treated to a contest in the heavyweight division with title picture implications. No. 2 contender Leonardo Perdomo (7-0 bare-knuckle) will meet up with No. 3 contender Arnold Adams (7-3 bare-knuckle). All fights on the card, main event included, will be an advertised maximum of five rounds at two minutes per round.

With current BKFC Heavyweight Champion Ben Rothwell seeing his planned July 19 fight go by the wayside due to the cancellation of BKFC 79, he’ll be watching with interest this week.

Perdomo enters the BKFC 78 main event this weekend having yet to lose in his bare-knuckle career. Saturday’s fight is another “home game” for the Leonardo Perdomo camp, with all of his fights to-date taking place in Hollywood, FL.

Back on March 27, he needed just 13 blistering seconds to finish off Steve Herelius with a left hook.  First-round stoppages are his brand. None of his previous seven fights have needed a second period in the ring. Can Perdomo score another victory here?

Meanwhile, Arnold Adams will be making the walk having gone 2-3 over the course of his last five matches. Currently, he’s lost two fights in a row and hasn’t fought since Dec. 2, 2023.

That night, he was on the wrong end of a fourth-round knockout from Mick Terrill. With Adams having been out for more than a year and a half’s time, the question of ring rust has reared its ugly head once again. Only time will tell if he’s able to get back in the win column.

BKFC 78 Co-Main Event: BKFC Interim Flyweight Championship: No. 4 Contender Gee Perez vs. No. 1 Contender Andrew Strode

Immediately beforehand, the co-main event of the evening will see the BKFC Interim Flyweight Championship up for grabs when fourth-ranked contender Gee Perez (5-1 bare-knuckle) collides with No. 1 contender Andrew Strode (3-0 bare-knuckle)

Perez comes into BKFC 78 with a record of 4-1 in his last five contests. At the moment, he’s won two fights in succession.

On Dec. 21 of last year, he saw his fight versus Cary Caprio end in 44 seconds after the latter fighter could not proceed upon suffering a dislocated shoulder. Much like Leonardo Perdomo in the main attraction, he, too, enters familiar territory, with Saturday’s bout being his third straight in Hollywood, FL. Will he go 3-for-3 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino?

Across the way, Strode has yet to lose in his bare-knuckle tenure and has gone 3-2 in his last five fights in all competitions. This past February at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT, he outlasted Tyler Randall by unanimous decision after five rounds of action. How will he fare this time around?

BKFC 78 Featured Fight: Bryan Duran vs. Robbie Peralta

Also on the BKFC 78 main card, the featured fight of the card happens at lightweight when Bryan Duran (7-1 bare-knuckle) meets up with Robbie Peralta (4-2 bare-knuckle.) Duran is sporting a 4-1 record in his last five contests.

Most recently, he scored a first-round knockout with one second remaining on the clock against Kasim Ruffin (2-1 bare-knuckle) by way of punches. Duran doesn’t often go deep into bouts. None of his wins have required going into a fifth and final round.

All eight of his fights under the BKFC promotional banner have taken place in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale area. What will this “home game” bring?

In the other corner, Robbie Peralta has posted a record of 2-3 in his last five fights. Back in January, he returned to the win column thanks to a unanimous decision victory over Jordan Christensen after five rounds in Temecula, CA. Saturday’s featured fight at BKFC 78 marks his return to competition in the Sunshine State, with both of his previous fights having happened in the Golden State of California. Will he secure his second straight win?
