Dustin Poirier was among those watching on as two of his fellow former UFC fighters collided in the ring.
Saturday was an extremely rough night at the office for Luke Rockhold. The former UFC and Strikeforce champion fell to a horrific knockout loss in his very first foray into the ring.
Rockhold’s pro boxing debut came against Darren Till in the Misfits 22 headliner at Manchester’s AO Arena. Following wins for the likes of Dillon Danis and Tony Ferguson on the undercard, a heated fight week leading up to the main event culminated in a truly devastating finish.
After being dropped and rocked numerous times, Rockhold was put out cold by Till in round three.

A brutal left hand folded Rockhold in frightening fashion and sent the crowd at Misfits Boxing 22 into a frenzy. And those in attendance were far from the only ones reacting to the shocking end to the headliner.
A number of prominent names took to social media with their instant reactions to Till’s third straight triumph in the crossover boxing promotion.
Among those tuning in was recently retired former interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Poirier. ‘The Diamond’ hung up his gloves after UFC 318 this past July and has no plans to venture into the crossover space.
And given what unfolded in Manchester on August 30, Rockhold may wish he had followed the same approach.
“Yikes,” Poirier wrote on X moments after the KO.
Yikes

Saturday’s result has unsurprisingly sparked talk of Rockhold’s future in combat sports.
Calls for the Californian to hang up the gloves existed long before his KO at the hands of Till. Dana White urged Rockhold to retire after his devastating setback against Jan Blachowicz six years ago at UFC 239.
Similar sentiments emerged after Rockhold’s BKFC loss to Mike Perry, and a bounce-back performance under the Karate Combat banner last year only provided a brief respite from such calls.
Many fans have told Rockhold to retire after Misfits Boxing 22, and it remains to be seen whether the 40-year-old will heed that advice.
