Fans Predict Dvalishvili Vs. O’Malley

UFC Bantamweight Champion Merab Dvalishvili takes on Sean O’Malley in their rematch at UFC 316 on June 7, as fans picked their winner.  

Dvalishvili beat O’Malley at UFC 306 in a unanimous decision to become the bantamweight champion. It was just O’Malley’s second defeat, showing the magnitude of his win. O’Malley admitted that he was not 100 percent, as he had surgery on his knee. Dvalishvili went from strength to strength as he faced the undefeated Umar Nurmagomedov. Dvalishvili won a unanimous decision, handing Umar his first career loss, showing he belonged at the elite level. 

Pre-Fight

“I do have extra motivation to finish this fight because the first fight I was going easy on him, but this time I’m looking for finish. I was laughing, I was showboating and stuff, and then I was kissing him. I’m not planning on kissing in this fight, I’m planning to finish him. If a kiss will come … I never plan this stuff, it’s just natural and depends how I’m going to feel. But I already kissed him, now it’s time to smash him,”,” Dvalishvili stated

“This feels like my first real rematch. The [Vera] fight was just, it was so quick [a Round 1 TKO] I didn’t feel like the fight got to play out. So I didn’t really feel like that felt like much of a rematch. After spending 25 minutes in the cage with Merab, going in there for a second time, that’ll feel more familiar. We both felt each other in there,” O’Malley said
