Jon Jones ‘Preparing’ To Face Alex Pereira

Jon Jones is preparing to face UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira just in case the UFC makes the fight.

Jones, the former UFC Heavyweight Champion, retired in June which prevented the Tom Aspinall fight from going ahead. However, he reversed his decision soon after by stating that he wanted to face Pereira at the UFC White House card in June, 2026. Jones felt that facing Alex was a much bigger fight globally, which would be more lucrative and bigger for his legacy. Pereira is also keen on making that fight, but so far, Dana White is reluctant to put Jones on the White House card, believing he is not reliable.

Jones On Pereira

“It’s a little bit out of my hands. I’m getting in shape, I’m lean and completely capable of hopping into a training camp. I guess time will tell. Either way, life is good,” Jones said

Another fight that has been talked about is a possible bout between UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira and Jake Paul. Pereira stated that it would be a “challenge” for both men. The conversation about a crossover fight resurfaced after Paul’s scheduled bout with Gervonta Davis was cancelled, leading to the announcement that Paul will now face former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua on December 19.

Pereira On Paul

Paul had first called out Pereira after his win over Mike Perry. The Problem Child claimed that “conversations went down”, but Alex’s UFC contract was the obstacle. While Pereira has had a reported 28 amateur fights and a single pro fight, he recognized it would be tough for Jake too.

“Yeah, I think it’d be a (hard) challenge for both of us. I do really well in boxing sparring, I have won pro boxing fights so I think when you do things that you enjoy doing you do them well, so that’s what I think about boxing myself,” Pereira said
