Justin Gaethje didn’t hold on to his Fanatics Games prize for long – and it turned out to be a pretty savvy move.

The former UFC BMF and interim lightweight champion took second place at this year’s Fanatics Fest, finishing behind only NFL legend Tom Brady.

The competition featured a mix of sports challenges, and Gaethje stood out even among a field stacked with major names like Rob Gronkowski, John Cena and Kevin Durant.

The Highlight didn’t win the $1,000,000 top prize. However, he has earned an expensive Ferrari for his impressive mark of 345.5 points.

Justin Gaethje traded Ferrari he won at Fanatics Fest for $400,000

Gaethje was only a late addition to the Fest Games roster, stepping in after originally being scheduled just for a meet-and-greet – but he impressed in the competition.

‘The UFC fighter grabbed second place and took home a Ferrari 296 GTB, which he didn’t keep for long..

Speaking to wakesurfing champion Austin Keen, Gaethje explained: “I won a f**king Ferrari. But I traded it for $400,000 so I really won $400,000. I competed against 50 celebrities and 50 fans, I took second place.”

Justin Gaethje surpassed top athletes including Odell Beckham Jr., Kevin Durant and Rob Gronkowski

The Highlight’s performance was even more impressive given the level of competition. The Fanatics Games line-up included NBA stars, Super Bowl champions and other high-profile athletes – yet he finished above the likes of Kevin Durant, James Harden, Draymond Green, Russell Wilson and Rob Gronkowski.

Originally scheduled to fly home after his meet and greet, a late push from Dana White got Gaethje into the roster, and he made the most of it, leaving with cash in hand and plenty of bragging rights.
