Renato Moicano was transported to a local hospital for precautionary head and face scans following his controversial third-round TKO loss to Tom Nolan at UFC Vegas 123, promotion officials confirmed to MMA Mania.
The former lightweight title challenger appeared in full control during the second round after locking in a body triangle on Nolan's back. Referee Dan Miragliotta then stood the fighters up despite Moicano maintaining dominant position and actively working for a finish, per the report. Nolan immediately capitalized, badly hurting Moicano with strikes before nearly stopping him late in the round.
The Australian kept up the pressure in round three, eventually reversing a Moicano takedown and landing ground strikes until Miragliotta waved off the fight. Moicano drops to 1-3 in his last four appearances and ends 2026 with a 1-1 record in UFC main events.
Welterweight Farman Hasanov also left the Meta Apex via hospital transport after a doctor stopped his fight with Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani in round three. Hasanov sustained a severe cut across his left eyelid that prompted Miragliotta to pause the action. The ringside physician determined he could not safely continue, snapping his undefeated record and dropping him to 1-1 inside the Octagon.
Results of the CT scans had not been publicly disclosed at press time. UFC routinely transports fighters for precautionary evaluations after extended battles or knockout finishes.
