Netflix has officially implemented its latest pricing adjustment, as fans will see an increase.
While the streaming giant is keeping the Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano on May 16 as a “no-extra-cost” feature for all members, the monthly subscription fees have been raised to support its rapid expansion into live sports and high-stakes combat events. The baseline expense to maintain a Netflix account has seen its second hike in just 14 months.
The change signals a shift in Netflix’s identity—from a library of movies to a live-events powerhouse competing directly with the likes of ESPN+. The new rates went into effect immediately for new members, while existing subscribers in the U.S. will see the changes phased in over their next billing cycle, typically with a 30-day notice.
| Subscription Tier | Old Monthly Rate | New Monthly Rate | Difference |
| Standard with Ads | $7.99 | $8.99 | +$1.00 |
| Standard (No Ads) | $17.99 | $19.99 | +$2.00 |
| Premium (4K/4 Users) | $24.99 | $26.99 | +$2.00 |
The price hike coincides with the push for Most Valuable Promotions’ (MVP) debut MMA card in Los Angeles. The event is expected to be one of the most-watched combat sports broadcasts in history.
