Dana White will announce Alex Pereira's next fight during the UFC 332 broadcast this Saturday after a social media challenge reached its target.
The UFC CEO agreed to reveal Pereira's heavyweight return plans after influencer Nina Drama gathered the required comments on her post. White had set the bar at 25,000 comments, per BJPENN.com, and the post cleared 27,000 within hours.
Pereira vacated the light heavyweight title earlier this year, leaving that division in flux while Carlos Ulberg remains sidelined. The Brazilian's move up to heavyweight eliminates Josh Hokit and Ciryl Gane as potential opponents, as those two will meet for the undisputed heavyweight title at UFC 334 after Tom Aspinall vacated the belt.
Alexander Volkov has emerged as one possibility after recent wins over Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Jailton Almeida. Sergei Pavlovich, who has been inactive in recent months, also sits in the mix.
UFC 332 takes place Saturday with Natalia Silva and Wang Cong fighting for the vacant women's flyweight title. Valentina Shevchenko vacated the belt due to injury.
