This flyweight title fight pits Natalia Silva, a patient, defensively sound Taekwondo striker, against Wang Cong, a Wushu Sanda specialist with one-punch finishing power. The stylistic striking clash will likely hinge on whether Wang can close the distance before Silva’s volume and footwork take over.

Natalia Silva enters on an eight-fight UFC unbeaten streak, with recent decision wins over former champions Rose Namajunas, Alexa Grasso, and Jessica Andrade.
Her striking approach is defined by constant lateral movement and a high output from range. Against Grasso, Silva’s ability to circle away from the cage and reset exchanges neutralized Grasso’s boxing entries.

Her defensive responsibility is a key asset. She rarely overcommits, which makes her difficult to counter. However, the Namajunas fight exposed moments where she can be pressured into the fence, though she still managed to secure the decision.
Still, if Namajunas can force discomfort, Silva must make sure her footwork is on point against Wang, who has the ability to fight backwards and forwards, is adept at cutting off the cage, and has more powerful punches than Namajunas.
Wang Cong poses a similar threat. A decorated Wushu and amateur boxing champion, Wang holds a UFC record for the second-fastest knockout in women’s flyweight history, a 62-second finish of Victoria Leonardo in her promotional debut.

She is currently riding a four-fight win streak, including a victory over Tracy Cortez. In that fight, she displayed superior footwork, circling her opponent and carefully timing counters much like Silva.
Wang’s power and precision are top-notch for the division, but her grappling defense remains a question mark. Her sole loss in MMA competition came at the hands of Gabriella Fernandes, who, as a massive underdog, put Wang out cold with a rear-naked choke.

Before the choke, however, Fernandes landed a flush high kick before dropping her with a left hook. Against Silva, Wang cannot afford to be lackadaisical in her defense, and she certainly cannot expect to eat a high kick from a much more dangerous kicker in Silva.
The fight likely comes down to range management. If Wang can land clean early, she has the power to end it. If Silva maintains distance and volume across five rounds, her championship experience against elite competition should prove decisive.
