Pros React To Brady Submitting Edwards – ‘Title Shot Next’
Per Haljestam-Imagn Images

MMA pros reacted to Sean Brady beating Leon Edwards at UFC London.

Brady secured a fourth-round submission win to give Edwards his second loss in a row. It is a massive blow for Edwards, who was the former UFC Welterweight Champion who is now on a poor run of form. Brady’s career is now on an upward trajectory, having put his sole loss to Belal Muhammad behind him.Brady also took the fight on short notice after Edwards’ original opponent, JackDella Maddalena, took a title shot fight against Belal at UFC 315 instead.

That did not hinder his preparation, as he secured a guillotine choke in round four to make Leon tap. He outlanded Edwards by 221-to-23 strikes. It was also Leon’s first stoppage loss, showing the magnitude of Brady’s win. He is now a step closer to securing a title shot against Belal, as MMA insiders gave their reaction.

Reaction

“To be honest, I literally took this fight the day I got out of the hospital with my wife with our newborn baby. I knew this was a fight that I could do that in. I know I can do that against anybody in this division. [And] I just showed that against one of the most prestigious champions as of recently, so I think I belong in the top three, top one [of the UFC welterweight rankings]. I heard all week people saying I’m too small. I’m not small for welterweight, I was 190lb when they weighed me at the back. I’m just short and that’s alright,” Brady said
