Without a doubt, no combat sports event has ever taken place at the White House, so the upcoming UFC Freedom 250 card is going to be historic. There may not be another event on this scale like White House card. Now, ahead of the show, Sean O’Malley has shared some early ideas and details about the card.

O’Malley said the UFC told him some new things about the White House event, and he was really impressed. After talking to UFC personnel in Las Vegas, he felt the event would be huge. He said the excitement around it feels even bigger than the Sphere show. He also said security will be very tight, and it is still unclear who will be allowed inside.

“If it’s outside… I’m going to start doing my sparring rounds in the sauna. The buildup they were talking about, the suspense, it’s crazy. Even crazier than when they were talking about the Sphere. The Secret Service alone is going to be insane. I still don’t know who’s going to be allowed in. I don’t know if family is going to be allowed, I have no idea,” O’Malley said.

However, despite being a historic card, it is facing backlash from parts of the MMA community due to Donald Trump’s involvement. Many feel it could become more of a political event than a UFC card. However, Dana White has said that it is not political.

Dana White Frames UFC White House Card as America’s 250th Birthday Gift

White said the UFC White House event has nothing to do with politics. He said it is the UFC’s gift to America on its 250th birthday and is meant to celebrate the country. According to him, the event is about the United States, not politics, and anyone who loves America will enjoy the show and around it.

“This is the UFC’s gift to the 250th birthday of America…This isn’t about politics. This is about the United States. If you love America, you’re gonna love this event,” White said.

Whether it is a political event or a real gift for America can be debated. But one thing cannot be debated: this is going to be one of the biggest UFC events ever, right after the Sphere-level show.
