Darren Till aims to run back two of his most losses from his MMA career, with boxing bouts against Jorge Masvidal and Tyron Woodley.

Till currently has a 3-0 professional record in boxing, having captured the Misfits bridgeweight championship title with a stoppage win over Luke Rockhold in August. Now, Till is focused on avenging his past defeats, stating that the Jorge Masvidal rematch is his main goal. Till suffered a knockout loss to Masvidal in 2019.

Till also holds an interest in challenging former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley, who defeated him via a submission at UFC 228 in 2018 to retain his title. A boxing clash with Woodley may be contingent on the outcome of Woodley’s upcoming fight, as he will face former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva in a professional boxing match this Friday, December 19th, on the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua undercard.

“I’d love my rematch with Masvidal. I’d love to knock him out because he knocked me out and then we could probably go for the trilogy. It’s the same with Woodley, he submitted me. So I’d love them two fights but then Nate Diaz is also available. He’s probably the biggest fight out of the three I’d love that. Let’s see where it goes because I’d love the Nate fight as well,” Till said

The Approach Vs. Masvidal

In their 2019 MMA encounter, Till dropped Masvidal early but eventually fell victim to a loss. In a boxing ring, Till’s approach will be about negating Masvidal’s “craftiness” through his superior reach. Unlike their first fight, the boxing ring allows Till to utilize his natural size (competing at Bridgeweight/Cruiserweight) to bully a career welterweight.

Till will constantly step his lead right foot outside of Masvidal’s left, creating a clear corridor for his straight left hand. This makes it difficult for Masvidal to land his overhand right. Masvidal’s loss to Nate Diaz showed that he can be overwhelmed onto the ropes. Till will likely use his jab to back Masvidal up.

Till Vs. Woodley

In their UFC title fight, Till was hesitant because of Woodley’s takedown threat. In boxing, that threat is gone. Till will likely use feints to the body to force Woodley to drop his guard, then come over the top with flurries. Till can “steal” rounds by simply being the busier fighter, using long-range straights to keep Woodley in a defensive position. In Woodley’s boxing matches, he struggled when opponents stayed active and didn’t allow him to reset.
