Fans at Kaseya Center definitely saw one of the best fight cards. The thriller started with the prelims, but fans were pumped to see Jiri Prochazka vs. Carlos Ulberg, where Prochazka had previously generated decent hype by saying he would hunt Ulberg and that he was super focused for UFC 327.
Meanwhile, the “Black Jag” defeated the Czech fighter via knockout in the first round and became the new light heavyweight champion. Despite suffering a leg injury early in the fight, Ulberg stood strong, as he knew he just needed one clean shot. And he landed a perfect hook that dropped the 33-year-old in the first round.
Paulo Costa made a huge statement in his light heavyweight debut. The Brazilian star knocked out Azamat Murzakanov with a head kick in Round 3. Fans saw a heated fight between Costa and Murzakanov, but Costa fought cautiously, focusing more on body shots. After this win, the Brazilian star might challenge for the title directly.
Josh Hokit is becoming one of the most interesting and entertaining fighters in the UFC. He scored the biggest win of his career, defeating Curtis Blaydes by unanimous decision in a wild heavyweight war at UFC 327. After this win, Hokit could be in the top 10 in the heavyweight division.
Fans expected the Dominick Reyes vs. Johnny Walker fight to be a thriller, but it didn’t end as fans expected. Reyes won the fight via split decision at UFC 327 against Walker. Instead of an explosive clash, Reyes ultimately got the nod and moved forward with a win.
The main card started with Cub Swanson, and he delivered a TKO in Round 1 against Nate Landwehr. The 42-year-old Swanson ended his career in perfect fashion, scoring a walk-off TKO at UFC 327.
During the post-fight octagon interview, Jiri Prochazka mentioned that he felt mercy for Carlos Ulberg for the injury he suffered during the fight. However, this cost Prochazka the chance to reclaim his light heavyweight title. Meanwhile, fans now hope to see more of the same excitement at the next numbered event, UFC 328.
