UFC Fighter Outraged Over Performance Bonus Snub Despite Delivering Card’s Only Knockout

UFC 107 this past weekend was a complete blunder from the promotion, with the main event of the night between Erin Blanchfield and Maycee Barber getting scrapped due to Barber suffering a last-minute medical emergency. The rest of the card was destined for chaos, as the clash between Andreas Gustafsson and Trevin Giles was scrapped due to a Giles injury, and a bout between women’s bantamweights Ketlen Vieira and Macy Chiasson moved up to featherweight after Vieira failed to make weight.

One of the few glimmers of brilliance was when veteran light heavyweight Dustin Jacoby left UFC Vegas 107 with a first-round knockout win.

Jacoby, however, was not rewarded the $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus he felt he deserved. The 37-year-old fighter flattened his opponent, Bruno Lopes, in under two minutes with a brutal combination, marking the only KO on a card dominated by decisions and submissions.

Here’s a video of the knockout:

Yet, when bonuses were announced, Jacoby’s name was conspicuously absent.

He called out the decision on his X (formerly Twitter) account, writing, “THE ONLY KNOCKOUT OF THE NIGHT AND NO BONUS?! C’MOON MAAAAAN!”

Jacoby’s frustration is understandable. His win was a highlight-reel demolition, and his victory extended Jacoby’s streak to two straight knockouts.

Performance bonuses were awarded instead to submission artists Ramiz Brahimaj and Jordan Leavitt. While Jacoby has earned three POTN awards in the past for finishes like his KO of Kennedy Nzechukwu, this time his viral-worthy stoppage wasn’t deemed worthy, despite being the card’s sole knockout.

Dana White and other UFC executives are known to make bonus decisions that can be puzzling due to their inconsistency. The CEO has rectified his decisions in the past, awarding fighters with their bonus after fans felt that he snubbed them.

Even fellow fighter Justin Gaethje pleaded for Jacoby to receive a bonus, posting on his X account, “Flawless performance for [Dustin Jacoby] Let’s get this man in the American Century Championship. 50k all day LET’S GO!”

Jacoby’s knockout remains the defining moment of UFC Vegas 107—even if the UFC’s bonus structure didn’t reflect it. Whether the promotion rectifies the oversight or Jacoby uses it as fuel for his next fight, it is clear that he won’t stay quiet when he feels disrespected.
