UFC Macau: Song Yadong vs. Deiveson Figueiredo Full Fight Results, Winners, and Highlights

This weekend, fans got plenty of action as they saw the Road to UFC event, where fighters from across Asia fought for a UFC contract. Meanwhile, fans also saw a thrilling fight night event at UFC Macau, where in the main event, Song Yadong bounced back after a loss against Sean O’Malley and defeated Deiveson Figueiredo by submission at 4:42 of Round 2 at UFC Macau

After a competitive opening round, Yadong began to take control in the second with sharp striking and damaging calf kicks. When Figueiredo attempted a takedown, “The Kung Fu Kid” capitalized by locking in a tight guillotine choke and won the fight. This was a huge victory for the Chinese fighter, who was aiming for a title shot.

In the co-main event of UFC Macau, Alonzo Menifield pulled off an upset as he defeated Zhang Mingyang via first-round TKO in a wild light heavyweight brawl. Both fighters started trading heavy shots from the start and looked for an early finish. However, Menifield was the one who connected the cleaner shots.

Sergei Pavlovich is now on a three-fight win streak. The Russian fighter made a massive statement in the heavyweight division, crushing Tallison Teixeira by TKO just 39 seconds into the first round. This was a huge victory for Pavlovich, and after this win, he became a contender for a title shot.

Kai Asakura finally won a fight in the UFC. Since his debut, he hadn’t won in the UFC. However, after making a successful return to bantamweight, he scored a first-round knockout over Cameron Smotherman. Additionally, Jake Matthews earned a dominant, unanimous decision victory over Carlston Harris. Matthews controlled the fight from start to finish, outclassing Harris in every area.

Meanwhile, the main card opener between Sumudaerji and Alex Perez ended in unfortunate fashion, being ruled a no-contest after an accidental low blow left Perez unable to continue in Round 2. However, fans also saw good fights on the preliminary card.

Angela Hill defeated Xiong Jingnan by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Rei Tsuruya defeated Luis Gurule by submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:19 of Round 1
Cody Haddon defeated Aoriqileng by TKO (knee to the liver) at 2:11 of Round 2
José Souza defeated Ding Meng by split decision (30-27, 28-29, 29-28)
Luis Felipe Dias defeated YiSak Lee by TKO (strikes) at 3:40 of Round 1

Overall, the prelim card was a thriller for fans, with more finishes. However, in the main event, fans also grew frustrated as Deiveson Figueiredo put on a poor performance. Fans would also see Belal Muhammad vs. Gabriel Bonfim at the UFC Apex in another thrilling fight night event.
