UFC Perth winners and losers took the stage for a post-fight press conference Saturday following the Paramount+ card at RAC Arena in Perth, Australia.
The presser began around 11 a.m. ET, per MMA Mania, and featured Brazilian welterweight Carlos Prates alongside lightweight prospect Quillan Salkilld. Prates finished hometown favorite Jack Della Maddalena by TKO in the main event while Salkilld stopped veteran Beneil Dariush in the co-main event, both results confirmed by Sherdog’s live coverage.
Prates extended his knockout streak to three consecutive finishes, having previously stopped Geoff Neal and Leon Edwards. Della Maddalena returned from a one-sided loss to Islam Makhachev but could not find his range against Prates, who landed the cleaner strikes before forcing the stoppage. The Brazilian now appears next in line for a title eliminator, with Ian Machado Garry — the only man to beat Prates inside the Octagon — reportedly set to face Makhachev instead.
Salkilld punched his ticket into the lightweight top 15 by smashing Dariush, according to MMA Mania. The Australian prospect needed just over one round to dispose of the former title contender, adding another highlight to a card that also featured a heel hook finish from Kody Steele and a split decision win for Jonathan Micallef over Themba Gorimbo on the prelims.
The full UFC Perth results and official bonus winners were announced during the press conference. The promotion returns next weekend with a numbered pay-per-view event.
