Last weekend at UFC 327, Carlos Ulberg defeated Jiri Prochazka to win the light heavyweight title. Meanwhile, this weekend may not have the same hype as the previous event, but with veteran Gilbert Burns fighting, it is still unmissable. The Brazilian will face Mike Malott. Ahead of the fight, here is the preview and prediction for the event.

Gilbert Burns vs. Mike Malott: Preview And Predictions

Burns comes in with a 22-9 record and a 68 percent finish rate. In his career, he has beaten top names like Jorge Masvidal and Neil Magny, along with many others. One of his biggest fights came against Khamzat Chimaev, where he pushed him hard but lost by decision. However, Burns is currently on a four-fight losing streak and will be looking to bounce back against Malott.

On the other hand, Malott has a record of 13-2-1. He has 11 finishes in his 13 wins, which makes him an exciting prospect. Malott entered the UFC through Dana White’s Contender Series and has since beaten notable names like Kevin Holland and Charles Radtke. He is currently on a three-fight winning streak, and a win over Burns would add another elite name to his list.

Talking about the prediction, it feels like Prochazka could win by a late stoppage, maybe in Round 3 or 4. Ulberg is very technical and dangerous, and he can trouble Jiri early with clean shots and movement. But the former champion’s pressure, toughness, and wild style make him very hard to handle over five rounds.
