Featherweight kingpin Alexander Volkanovski will defend his title against unbeaten contender Movsar Evloev when UFC 333 lands, according to ESPN.
The Australian champion meets Evloev in the main event slot, his next test against a surging challenger who has yet to taste defeat inside the octagon. Volkanovski has held the 145-pound strap through multiple defenses and now faces a grappler many consider his toughest stylistic matchup to date.
The co-main features bantamweight champion Petr Yan running back his rivalry with Merab Dvalishvili for a third time, per the same report. The Georgian wrestler handed Yan one of his few career losses in their previous meeting, a grueling decision that saw Dvalishvili smother the Russian's offense over five rounds.
Yan reclaimed the 135-pound title in the interim and now looks to settle the score in what promises to be another cardio-heavy chess match. The trilogy bout caps a stacked championship doubleheader with no official venue or date announced yet for the numbered pay-per-view event.
