Four fighters earned UFC contracts after Tuesday's Contender Series card at the APEX, with Dana White comparing one prospect to Jon Jones.
Undefeated Quentin Pasley improved to 4-0 with a violent finish of Arlind Berisha in the main event, per MMA Fighting. The 24-year-old scored a takedown before dropping brutal elbows that left Berisha unconscious at 4:41 of the opening round. White praised Pasley after the stoppage and handed him a contract.
Isaac Moreno survived late submission attempts from Reginaldo Junior to win a unanimous decision and secure his spot on the roster. The undefeated prospect announced his wedding would take place hours after the fight, and White gave him a contract as a wedding gift, according to the report.
Martin Kozak battered Christian Echols over two rounds before finishing him with body shots at 1:32 of the second frame. Kozak was the heaviest betting favorite on the card and used his size advantage after Echols missed weight by four pounds. Referee Mike Beltran paused the action in the first round when Kozak landed a low blow that dropped Echols, but the stoppage only delayed the inevitable.
Christian Natividad opened the card with a first-round knockout of Colton Loud, landing a pair of body shots that folded his opponent at 1:10. The younger brother of former UFC fighter Kevin Natividad earned the fourth contract of the night.
Apollo Gomes survived two knockdowns in the first round against Kwon Wonil before rallying to win a unanimous decision, but White told him to get more experience before returning. Contender Series returns next Tuesday for Week 6 of Season 10.
