Yoel Romero’s remarkable late-career run added another highlight in Miami as he knocked out Alex Nicholson in just 70 seconds during a bare-knuckle MMA bout.
The event, held at the Unrivaled Arena and promoted by Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred FC, saw Romero originally scheduled to face Hector Lombard. However, Lombard pulled out ahead of fight night.
Nicholson, who previously fought in both the UFC and PFL, stepped in as a replacement. He started well enough but was quickly taken down and finished, marking his fourth consecutive loss across various promotions—all by first-round knockout.
Yoel Romero’s remarkable late-career run continued on Saturday night in Miami, as he stopped Alex Nicholson in 70 seconds during a bare knuckle MMA bout.
The event was put together by Jorge Masvidal under the Gamebred FC banner and took place at the Unrivaled Arena. Romero had originally been scheduled to face Hector Lombard, but Lombard withdrew before fight week. Instead, Nicholson took the main event slot.
Nicholson appeared to be holding his own early on until Romero took him down and finished the fight quickly from there. It marked the Americans’ fourth consecutive loss across different disciplines, each one coming by first-round knockout.
Romero now holds a 3-1 record since leaving Bellator last year and has been active across various organisations, including iKON FC, Colosseum MMA, RFA Wrestling, and now Gamebred Bare Knuckle MMA.
