Steph Curry Makes NBA History vs. Atlanta Hawks
© Jordan Godfree-USA TODAY Sports

With a historic performance on Saturday night, Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry finished with 60 points against the Atlanta Hawks. With his second career 60-point game, Curry became just the 10th player in NBA history with multiple 60-point games.

Despite the incredible showing from Curry, Golden State lost another heartbreaker, which has been the story of their season. Production outside of Curry has been inconsistent all season for the Warriors, which has led to nights like then when a monster showing from their superstar point guard just isn't enough to get a win.

With Curry playing at such a high level, the Warriors need to find a way to build a competitive team around him. While injuries have undoubtedly contributed to this underwhelming season, that has been far from Golden State's only issue this year. The lack of production outside of Curry has been the biggest story for Golden State, as performances like the one he turned in on Saturday night against Atlanta have regularly gone to waste.

This was another brutal loss for a Warriors team that has had several of them this season. Had some of these close games swung the other direction, Golden State would be in much better shape right now, but unfortunately that is not the case as they sit outside of the Western Conference play-in picture.
