2012 NASCAR Cup Series champion and RFK Racing co-owner Brad Keselowski suffered a broken leg during a ski trip on Thursday.
Keselowski's injury was announced via a statement posted to social media on Friday.
"Albeit untimely, we feel in the interest of transparency we share RFK Racing co-owner and driver Brad Keselowski suffered a broken leg while on a ski trip with his family Thursday," RFK Racing said in the statement. "Keselowski has successfully completed routine surgery, and doctors expect a quick and full recovery."
Keselowski issued a statement of his own.

"I'm grateful for the medical team who took great care of me and for the support system around me," Keselowski said. "My attention is now fully on recovery. I'm motivated to get back to full strength as quickly as possible and will work relentlessly to be ready for Daytona."
Even if Keselowski is able to officially begin the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season at Daytona, his status could be up in the air for the season-opening exhibition race, the Cook Out Clash, at Bowman Gray Stadium on Feb. 1.
Keselowski's injury is similar to that of Chase Elliott, who suffered a broken tibia in a snowboarding incident in 2023. Elliott was out for six Cup Series races while he recovered.
RFK Racing and Keselowski are, of course, hoping that Keselowski's timeline for recovery is quicker as he prepares for his 17th full-time season of Cup Series competition.
