Brad Keselowski Responds to Ryan Blaney Health Scare at Pocono With Ugly Truth About Mexico Trip

Brad Keselowski and Ryan Blaney were teammates for years at Team Penske. On Sunday at Pocono Raceway, the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series champion and current Penske driver finished third. The 2012 champ and RFK Racing co-owner/driver finished ninth.

After the race, an exhausted Blaney did an interview for Prime’s post-race show. What fans watching at home didn’t realize is it was a struggle for the driver, according to reporter Colin Ward.

Ryan Blaney fell to his knees multiple times after the race, and stayed down for a while, clearly exhausted,” Ward wrote on X. “He got up briefly to do a TV interview and went back down. He stayed down, waiting for the AMR Safety team, and road off to the care center on a golf cart. Looked like his legs were cramping — more than likely dehydration.”

Keselowski responded to Ward’s post, shedding light on what many drivers have experienced this week after their trip south of the border.

“Observation from driver intros-,” the 41-year-old driver started. “Most all of the drivers are still sick and dehydrated from last week. I’ve never seen so many sick drivers before the start of the race.”

Keselowski’s comments line up with what multiple other drivers and crew members shared this past week, including his other former Penske teammate Joey Logano.

“It was fine down there, OK,” the three-time champion said on Tuesday during his weekly appearance on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. “But, I'm like, I'm not leaving this hotel. I'm like, nope. I'm going from hotel to racetrack, racetrack to hotel. This is the place that NASCAR trusts us to be. I feel like this is where I should be.

"They had like three different restaurants in there. Tried them all. All of them were great. And I didn't get sick. All I know is there was like five drivers on race day that were not feeling so hot. And I was like, I did the right thing. I'm still feeling okay. So it all worked out.”

And for some who didn't follow a similar plan, they're clearly still paying the price a week later.
