Carson Hocevar, John Hunter Nemechek in NASCAR All-Star Race, Noah Gragson wins fan vote

Carson Hocevar, John Hunter Nemechek and Noah Gragson are the three drivers left standing after the NASCAR All-Star Open at North Wilkesboro Speedway. 

Hocevar and Nemechek finished in the top-two transfer spots, while Gragson won the fan vote for the third year in a row. 

Shane van Gisbergen dominated the first half of the race, but a four-tire pit call under caution doomed the No. 88 and sent van Gisbergen tumbling down the running order. While Hocevar took the lead and drove away, Nemechek wrestled second away from Bubba Wallace to advance. 

A penalty handed down to Ryan Preece took him from third to the back of the pack, ending his chances of advancing to the All-Star Race. 

Erik Jones got around Wallace by using the chrome horn in retaliation for Wallace running Jones up the track on the previous lap. After nearly holding on to a transfer spot, Wallace faded to an eighth-place finish and will not advance to the All-Star Race for the first time since 2021. 

Ty Dillon, Jones and Michael McDowell rounded out the top five, with Zane Smith, A.J. Allmendinger, Wallace, Cole Custer and Riley Herbst completing the top 10. 

Other notable finishers include Preece in 11th, van Gisbergen in 13th, Ty Gibbs in 15th and Gragson in 17th. 

The NASCAR All-Star Race will go green shortly after 8 p.m. ET, with coverage on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. Joey Logano is the defending winner.
