Chase Elliott breaks down how piloting his $1.8 million private jet helps him ‘challenge his mind’
Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott is the most famous driver among the legacy NASCAR fans. Him being the son of ex-Cup champion and record most popular driver award winner Bill Elliott is the reason for his massive fandom. Coming from a racing family, he was always destined to be NASCAR diver and he was racing professionally full-time when he got into his first year of high school.

Chase Elliott ended his studies only in the second semester of high school to fully focus on racing. While doing the same he missed the educational challenge that kept him always thinking. To get over it Elliott started learnings and later flying planes. So, flying his $1.8 million worth private jet became a supplement challenge he missed for getting out high school and not going to college.

I didn’t go to college. I got out of high school that second semester, and I came up here and started racing out of this building, and the flying thing for me has always been just a way for me to continue to challenge my mind and to try and better myself in an educational way, kind of to supplement the fact that I didn’t go to college and I didn’t go to school, and I just feel like it’s… Chase Elliott said via Dale Jr. Download.

Elliott has already proved that getting out of high school and entirely focussing on his career was the right choice. He has made it to the list of 75 all-time greats of the sport with in a short span of time and is already a champion. The 28 years old has won 18 Cup races so far and he has a lot of years left to achieve more in the sport.

Chase Elliott urges NASCAR to use tier wear as solution to short-track racing issues

Poor short track racing due to traffic and lack of opportunities pass cars on the track has been a major issue in the Next-Gen era. Last weeks race at Bristol proved that by introducing tiers with more rubber fall off, this issue can be solved. Chase Elliott reckons that this is the right path for NASCAR to take.

Yes, something in that direction. To that extreme, maybe not, but a tire that wears and being able to drive your car differently on the front end of a run to dictate what type of performance you’re going to have on the backend of a run, I think is a really cool thing as a race car driver. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed that aspect of it. Chase Elliott said.

Chase Elliott right now has shifted his focus to the coming race at COTA. He is yet to end his winless streak and hasn’t even secured a top-5 finish this season so far. Considering his prowess in short tracks, COTA is the right spot to break the momentum and get back to winning ways.
