Dale Earnhardt Jr. is speaking out following his "controversial" beverage choice following his yearly race at Bristol.
The 51-year-old longtime NASCAR star is known for his relationship with Budweiser. Dale Jr. drove a Budweiser car during his time in the NASCAR Cup Series. He's long been linked with Bud Heavy and Bud Light.
However, following his race in Bristol over the weekend, Dale Jr. was spotted drinking something else. He was drinking a Michelob Ultra.
Steven Taranto shared the photo of Dale Jr.
"Post-race beer time for Dale Earnhardt Jr. He'll speak to us here in a minute," he wrote.

Dale Jr. made it clear that Michelob Ultra is owned by the same company as Budweiser and Bud Light.
"AB owns MU," he wrote.

Dale Jr. defended his choice, saying that it was simply what he got handed in the moment following the race.
"It's what I got handed in the moment and I wasn't gonna turn it down," he wrote on X.
You know you have strong branding when you're spotted with a drink following a race and you quickly had to take to social media to defend the choice.
But that's the life for Dale Jr. following his lengthy NASCAR career.
