Massive news for the Indianapolis 500! Former NASCAR and IndyCar racers Tony Stewart AND Danica Patrick will be in the FOX Sports booth. Stewart, a champion of the sport, and Patrick, one of the biggest trailblazers for women in motorsports, will be on hand at Indy to provide top-notch coverage.
Danica Patrick has been in the broadcast business for a few years now, and has been on Indy 500 coverage since 2019. She has covered Formula 1 races. She will be a great asset to the Indy 500 crew.
Of course, Tony Stewart has a long history with the open-wheel series. He is the only person to complete all 1100 miles of the Memorial Day Double.
It is fitting to have Stewart in the booth as Kyle Larson attempts his second Double. Patrick will be great as well with her wealth of knowledge and experience. Those old Stewart-Haas fans have to be happy, right?

Tony Stewart and Danica Patrick will join the FOX broadcast team along with regulars Will Buxton, James Hinchcliffe, and Townsend Bell. Jamie Little, Kevin Lee, and Georgia Henneberry will be pit reporters.
Alongside Stewart and Patrick will be Chris Myers. It is the Greatest Spectacle in Racing and there will be plenty of excitement as FOX gets broadcast rights for the first time.
FOX plans on airing 60 hours of Indianapolis 500 coverage. There will be tons of content for race fans to take in. It is the best day in motorsports with Monaco, Indy, and Charlotte all up on the schedule from F1 to IndyCar to NASCAR.
The news that Danica Patrick will continue her coverage of the Indianapolis 500 is pretty big. FOX took over the broadcasting rights from NBC. So, there was no guarantee that FOX would bring her onto the broadcast team.
Then you have Tony Stewart. Stewart is still racing in the NHRA and won his first Top Fuel race at Four Wide Nationals earlier this season. What he has done behind the wheel of so many race cars is unmatched, quite frankly.
I think that the coverage for Kyle Larson’s Double Duty attempt will be fantastic. Having Stewart on the broadcast, someone who has done the Double twice in his career, will give us a better picture of the difficulties that Larson faces in the IndyCar and then going back to NASCAR in a stock car.
Does this make you more excited for the Indianapolis 500? Danica Patrick and Tony Stewart in the same booth – let’s get to May 25th already.
