Chase Elliott, the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion and driver of the No. 9 NAPA Chevrolet Camaro for Hendrick Motorsports, came up victorious on Sunday night.
The Dawsonville, GA native won the 2025 Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium from the pole, after dominating and leading a race-high 171 laps. NASCAR's most popular driver for seven straight seasons earned his first career Clash win to the delight of fans in the stands in Winston-Salem, NC and back home in north Georgia.
The infamous Dawsonville Pool Room hosts weekly watch parties for NASCAR Cup Series races to see their hometown hero compete on the track. The legendary burger bar is known nationally for its iconic "si-reen," which blares into the distance following any Elliott victory, as it did for decades when his father Bill raced in the Cup Series.
Elliott won NASCAR's first race at Bowman Gray in 54 years and sent the fans home happy, after an eventful weekend in the heart of stock-car racing.
Following the race, a loud siren sound rang from the foothills of the north Georgia mountains at the Dawsonville Pool Room, in one of the coolest traditions in motorsports.
