Jeb Burton paces NASCAR O'Reilly Series practice at Daytona

Jeb Burton started his 2026 NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series season off by leading practice at Daytona International Speedway.

Burton got in a small pack in the middle of practice and set a fast lap of 48.735 seconds in the first practice session of the season.

"That was a little PR lap there," Burton told CW Sports. "I just wanted to see what my car would do in the draft. We learned some things."

Notable practice results

Dean Thompson, Corey Day, Sammy Smith and Gio Ruggiero rounded out the top-five, with Jordan Anderson, Blaine Perkins, Carson Hocevar, Jeremy Clements and Carson Kvapil completing the top-10.

Other notable drivers include defending series champion Jesse Love in 11th, Patrick Staropoli in 13th, Austin Hill in 17th, Rajah Caruth in 18th and Sheldon Creed in 22nd.

All 42 entries made at least one lap during Friday's session. Clements initially had trouble keeping the engine on his No. 51 Chevrolet running, while Barrett-Cope Racing driver Carson Ware (23rd) had issues with the roof flap on his No. 30. Lavar Scott was the slowest driver to take time.

O'Reilly Auto Parts Series qualifying will begin at 10 a.m. ET Saturday on the CW App, while the green flag for Saturday's United Rentals 300 at Daytona will be thrown shortly after 5 p.m. ET, with coverage on the CW, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
