The NASCAR Cup Series Round of 8 will begin at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend. Katherine Legge, who impressed the motorsports world by securing two top-20 finishes in six starts this season, will be a part of the field when it does. She will be reprising her role as the driver of the No. 78 Livefast Motorsports Chevrolet.
Team owner BJ McLeod said in the official team release, "We’re honored to have Katherine back with us in the Desnuda car. Her talent and professionalism bring tremendous value to the team, and her leadership as a trailblazer continues to inspire both inside and outside of racing."
Legge made her Cup Series debut at the Phoenix Raceway earlier this year, becoming the first woman since Danica Patrick to start a Cup Series event. Following that, she brought home a 19th-place finish at the Chicago Street Course and a 17th-place finish in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Her return to Cup Series competition adds to her already diverse portfolio. She has experience racing in the IndyCar Series, IMSA, and Formula E. Notably, she has also started six races in the Xfinity Series this year. Her latest race in the Cup Series was at the Watkins Glen International Raceway.
Legge couldn't be prouder of how far she and the No. 78 team have grown together this year. She stated, "I’m proud of how far we’ve come this season, gaining experience and speed at the pinnacle of stock car racing as a driver, as a team, and by showcasing the Droplight brands like Desnuda."
"This car represents more than just a livery. It’s a statement of purpose and individuality. Las Vegas Motor Speedway is the perfect place to showcase what Desnuda and I both stand for-real passion, hard work, and the courage to stand out."

The native of Guildford, England, will try to surpass her career-best result at Vegas this weekend. To do so, she must compete with a hungry field of drivers. NASCAR has already released the entry list for the race, and it includes the dangerous likes of Shane van Gisbergen, who won Sunday's race at the Charlotte ROVAL.
