Katherine Legge will return to Texas Motor Speedway this weekend to race in the Xfinity Series  Andy’s Frozen Custard 300. With it, she will don a new paint scheme for the upcoming Cinco de Mayo holiday. At the May 3rd race, the Desnuda Tequila livery will be displayed on Legge’s No. 32 Jordan Anderson Racing Chevrolet. The featured colors offer a darker shade of green as the primary color offset by a leaf pattern in a lighter shade. The British standout had a tough time during her Cup Series debut and more recently in the Xfinity Series at Rockingham. So, for Legge, the livery symbolizes turning over a new leaf.

Katherine Legge on Representing Desnuda Tequila

Katherine Legge spoke to various media outlets about the scheme, explaining that she is excited to represent Desnuda Tequila in Texas this weekend. Desnuda Tequila also commented regarding the mashup, stating that the company is honored to be partnered with Legge and views her as the epitome of class. Truer words couldn’t have been spoken, especially after what Legge endured following  Phoenix and Rockingham with bullying via social media.

During a recent episode of her podcast, Throttle Therapy with Katherine Legge, she spoke out about the backlash she’s received in the form of hate mail, crude comments, and death threats. Legge spoke candidly about it, noting that she was not one to give up and planned to keep going. She’s become a true inspiration to many and is normalizing the presence of women in a male-dominated sport. Therefore, it’s fitting that Desnuda chose to sponsor her and use her as the face of their brand at the Andy’s Frozen Custard 300.

“I’m so excited to represent Desnuda Tequila at The Great American Speedway. I’m a health-conscious athlete whose go-to drink at a party is tequila, lime, and soda. That’s why I was thrilled to team up with Desnuda Tequila around Cinco De Mayo! Desnuda’s flavor instantly stood out to me, it is exceptional,” Katherine Legge said of her partnership with Desnuda Tequila.

“I love the fact it is organic and clean. The founders of Desnuda are tequila purists and huge fans of racing. We had a lot of fun creating this weekend’s livery based on our shared passions,” she added.

Final Thoughts

As the Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 looms, so does the anticipation of the live unveiling of Katherine Legge’s new paint scheme. Legge has worked hard to soften the stigma around women in the motorsports industry. Catching criticism from fellow drivers and fans has been tough, but she has risen above as the first woman to compete in NASCAR in seven years. Undoubtedly, she will continue to do so and chip away at many barriers along the way.
